Ikat Get Enough

This ikat pattern is one of the hottest nail art trends right now. While the pattern may look complicated, it’s actually pretty simple to create. Here’s how to steal the style:

Polish Suggestions: China Glaze For Audrey (blue), Essie Tart Deco (pink), OPI Alpine Snow (white), Milani Nail Art Lacquer with Precision Brush Black Sketch (black)

1. Start with a base coat.

2. Once dry, apply two coats of the blue nail polish.

3. Using the pink polish, make a few blotches on each nail. (These will look like shapeless clouds at first.) Your thumb will probably fit three blotches, and your pinky one blotch. The rest can have two.

4. Now take the black polish — you’ll need a thin nail brush for this — and use quick strokes to go around the outlines of the blotches. Do this all the way around the blotch in raggedy movements. The strokes should connect, but end at varying heights.

5. Place white blotches in the middle of the pink blotches. Once dry, repeat the raggedy strokes with the black polish around the white blotch.

6. Finish with a top coat.
