We spotted this ombre manicure backstage at Erickson Beamon, and instantly fell in love. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics created this look for the show with Vintage (a deep red), Blackboard (a deep green) and Tarred (a pure black). But you don’t need all those colors to get the look. Instead, grab two bottles of polish (one color, one black), a makeup sponge, and topcoat.

Begin by applying two coats of the color polish. Before it dries, sponge on the black polish, keeping it heavier toward the tips. Then, while it’s still wet, apply the topcoat and use the brush to pull the colors across the nail. (This will blend the colors together.) Finally, once everything has dried, apply another top coat to protect the design.
