Day 8: Space nails

We decided to kick it up a notch today — by putting together our very own creation. Anna came up with some fun elements for the look, including a white rocket, planet, and silver stars dotted across the sky.

What we used:

RGB Nail Polish in 1996, $16

Milani Nail Art Lacquer with Precision Brush in White Canvas, $3.99

Milani Nail Art Lacquer with Precision Brush in Art of Silver, $3.99

Nails, Inc. Westminster Bridge in Matte Top Coat, $10

Sparitual True Bond Topcoat, $15

How we got the look:

Step 1. Anna applied several coats of dark blue nail polish to get that murky, almost-black base.

Step 2. Once the base was dry, she painted my nails with a matte top coat to get rid of the glossy finish of the blue polish.

Step 3. Then, Anna painted a small rocket on my middle finger. She continued the theme by drawing an oval on my thumb and painting a silver ring around it with glitter nail polish to create a planet.

Step 3. Anna added the “starry sky” element by dotting the glitter nail polish all over my nails.

Step 4. Once my nails were completely dry, she applied a clear topcoat to seal in the design.
