While visiting colleges, I could’ve cared less about the amazing faculty or the ultra high-tech computer labs. No, the one thing that was the true mark of an impressive school was the dining hall. Was it open all hours? What type of food did it serve? How did the meal plan work? The answers to these questions were essential to my decision. (What? Everyone has their priorities.)
So it’s no surprise that I gained a few pounds my first semester in school. (And I swear, alcohol had nothing to do with it … ) Before I knew it, I was feeling a bit self-conscious about the way my clothes fit.
Luckily, I discovered that in addition to a killer coffee bar, my college also had an amazing gym. But until those pilates kicked in, I still wanted to look good as I was losing the weight. Unfortunately, my college had no professional stylist on call.
Which is a shame, because after interviewing tons of stylists, I’ve learned one very important thing. You can actually dress yourself thin — if you know what you’re doing. Want longer legs? How about smaller hips? It’s possible without stepping foot inside a gym. All you need is a few tricks of the trade when it comes to your fashion choices. And I just so happened to compile 15 of the best slimming fashion tips just for you.
College food may never change, but you can hide that Freshman 15. I just wish I had this list when I was in school.
