Everyone owns a hair dryer and knows how amazing bobby pins are. But when it comes to the quest for great hair, how far are you willing to go? Topsy Tail … Bumpit … Braidini …? Those are only a few of the many hair inventions to emerge in the last 20 years. And since Beauty Riot is the queen of all things hair, we decided to take a closer look at these strange gadgets — the good, the bad, and the just plain weird (Flowbee anyone?).
While many of the products promised outlandish things, or tried to solve problems we never knew we had (looking at you MP3 Hair Straightener), there were a couple of gems in the bunch. A few of us have even bought these items — and swear by them. And a few more got the Beauty Riot tester treatment. (It’s pretty rigorous, FYI.) As for the results, you’ll have to keep reading.

So what’s the future of weird hair inventions? We don’t think they’re going away anytime soon — nor the people willing to fork over the money to buy them. But hey, you never know when one might just pull a hair transformation.
