Before there were butterfly clips, there was the scrunchie. The infamous scrunchie was invented to prevent hair from snagging on rubber elastics and became the hair accessory du jour beginning in the early ’80s. Scrunchies had their day in the ’90’s sun, but eventually became as outdated as shoulder pads or crimped hair. Do you still own one?
