Floating Denim

Floating Denim

Be prepared to answer a lot of questions when wearing these jeans. After all, the legs do look like they’re floating and unattached to the top part of the jeans. But they are — by a thin piece of transparent plastic.

To begin, cut the legs of your jeans off at about a few inches above your knee. Cut two small ribbons of plastic (you can find this at a fabric or hardware store) that are long enough to wrap around your leg. Sew your jeans back together, using the plastic ribbons. The plastic should separate the top piece of denim from the bottom piece of denim.
